Asian design in my interpretation is similar to silk, natural protein fibers that can be woven in complex textile yet remains simple in its aesthetics. According to all my research I have come to realise that there is a pattern that often occurs in the design from Asia and that it is usually revolves around the topic of using natural resources, Zen and religious aspect towards the aesthetics and form. Here is two images that I have drawn up using the weave silk program which uses a repetition of lines that signifies silk and it is flowing freely while you start to draw and form patterns. In the two images I chose to draw a moth which represents the cycle of nature and how silk are made and the relation it has on Asian design. The second drawing is a flower which symbolizes the religious view on design, often influenced by Zen or Buddhist traditions.
